I have always been fascinated by Africa. There is something raw, dangerous, pure and mysterious about the continent. When I think of Africa I think of Peter Beard with his incredible collages, I think of the baroness Karen von Blixen-Finecke, I think of Wole Soyinka whose books I read in my literature class, I think of strength, vibrancy, poise and elegance. I still have to travel there, yet I cherish the wait allowing my imagination to nurture my patience.
Back to the outfit, as I am standing in one of the rooms of the dreamy white loft and I am facing racks and racks of clothing. How do I choose? Impulsive, I pick out some day to day basics in neutrals and do a 360 turn as I see the crazier outfits and go for them. The tribal Africa inspired Sass & Bide collar is not something I would wear to the office :))) yet it has this amazing allure to me. It's crazy, bold, structured and textured and yet at the same time light. I think I might just give it a try!

So Priscilla and I mix it up with a delicious skirt from Something Else by Natalie Wood and a perfect slightly silky top. I am obsessed with texture. Anything synthetic, mohair or too spiky is automatically out of question, the feel of a piece is so important.
To finish off the look I grab a pair of Ksubi glasses. Sunglasses have the power to complete any look.

I was on the beach the other day and saw a boy in a pair of white ray bans, without them he was just a nice looking guy, but with them he had a nonchalant punk cool about him. A simple accessory that sets the look.
A word to accessories on the way out I saw the Lucy Hutchings bracelets which were absolutely beautiful: combining two of my favorite materials brown leather and semi precious stones. I was in love again.
We walked down to an empty office space, white walls, white bricks, perfect lighting what else can one wish for? A special mention to my favorite photographer Sam :) All collages courtesy of Peter Beard
