Workwear Lady-like Tribal

Happy Sunday guys, hope you are having a good weekend, so here are a few photos I took over lunchtime last week.

Office wear at my workplace is rather drab and pretty peculiar to say the least. Aside from one lady who has a penchant for Kenzo style skinny trousers and tunics in bright colors and a few girls who have quite a pretty lady-like style, the majority stick to rather uninspiring ensembles.

Friday (off day) is the day of the biggest offences: where one can witness spray on jeggings, converse with black leggings and jeans skirts (on 40 year old + women), oh and my favorite black ripped leggings with patent red sandals and shiny pink nail polish (kill me!!!).

Every morning I think of ways to be original without looking too unprofessional. Sometimes finding inspiration is very difficult to be honest. Especially as very few blogs aside form 9-5 chic and myfashiontale do cool workwear. One rule is that whatever I wear should ideally work with flats, I walk to work and HK is super hilly, so heels are out of question. Under my desk I store lots of heels for when I need to be more presentable or have a meeting. As the shoes are usually lying around in a very hazardous fashion I have been known for running into a meeting with two different shoes (I would just slip into the first shoes I would find under my desk without looking, afterwards I would be greeted with surprised stares in the elevator, as I would look down I would see a red and a nude shoe... Ooooops).

Outfit: a super old Massimo Dutti shirt (5 years and counting), I have worn it so many times that one of the sleeves ripped so I had to crop it, my new skirt from Club Monaco (I call the pattern lady-like tribal), my old Gucci belt that I absolutely adore + super comfy Repettos. (Bracelet Uterque, glasses Prism, bag PS1)

  2. I love your work ensemble...classic and timeless white shirt paired with classic-skirt-goes-tribal and then flat shoes for unexpected twist...which by the way are amazing! Perfectly accessorized!

  3. I adore your Club Monaco skirt, they do great bottoms don't they? Club Monaco concession at Browns in London has only just been launched over the summer, I'm very obsessed with their products but they're sooo expensive!
